Empowering the Unemployed Expo
A journey through comprehensive workshops
to navigate through a challenging economy.
In a joint effort to provide South Florida' s unemployed residents with information on re-training opportunities, hands-on workshops and employment-related resources, the Office of Mayor Carlos Alvarez, South Florida Workforce, and Florida National College are hosting "Empowering the Unemployed Expo" at the Florida National College at 4425 W. 20 Avenue Hialeah, Florida 33012, on Friday, February 25, 2011. These hands-on workshops are designed to assist the area's unemployed to succeed in a competitive job-seeking environment.
This one-day event will kick-off the morning with a motivational speaker addressing the workshop's theme "Empowering the Unemployed". A series of follow-up workshops will be facilitated by a team of experts that will help participants with improving their resumes, honing their interviewing skills, dressing appropriately on a budget and learning tips on how to connect with potential employers. Empowering the Unemployed Expo's workshops are information packed; when a participate leaves a workshop, they will have all the skills and knowledge necessary to rise above in this competitive job market.
