YOUNG ADULTS NEEDED...

The South Florida Workforce will assist young adults to enhance their work readiness skills and pursue the best jobs possible for the summer. You may qualify to participate in the South Florida Workforce Investment Board's Summer Employment Program if you are:

  • Bullet ImageSpacer ImageA U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

The selection of youth will be
done by a lottery process.

The 8 thru 10 week program will provide young adults with summer jobs, work readiness skills and an opportunity to earn a paycheck by working in entry-level occupations at governmental agencies, non-profit and for profit agencies, hospitals and community based organizations on a part-time basis earning $8 to $10 an hour.

EMPLOYERS...

South Florida Workforce Investment Board's (SFWIB) 2009 Summer Employment Program will provide job opportunities to approximately 4,000 low income young adults, ages 14-24 residing in Miami-Dade or Monroe County, earning $8-$10 an hour for 140-160 hours to include 20 hours of work readiness skills training.

By partnering with SFWIB, local businesses will provide young adults with job opportunities and guidance in appropriate work place behavior, at no cost to the employer.
